Trending Colors
As the seasons change, a number of my clients come in and want to do something different, but not drastic, to their hair. With many, I help them accomplish this with color treatments. And, right now there are a few trending color treatments that I am loving. Check them out below and see if one may be right for you. BALAYAGE
Balayage (from French: balayage "scanning, sweeping") is a method devised by Henri Poincare which is a technique for highlighting hair where the dye is painted to create a graduated, natural-looking effect. In other words, this is your extremely natural, sun-kissed look. As if you’ve been in the sun all Spring here in American Fork! And yes, I literally use freehand to paint and lighten your hair!
FOILYAGE
Foilyage is a lightening technique where the painted pieces are placed in a foil for the ultimate hair lift. This is perfect for brunettes and girls who want to be super blonde. This technique creates the ultimate vibrant strands of color. I’m often asked what the difference between foilyage and balayage are, and it’s quite simple. Balayage involves sweeping lightener down the mid-lengths and ends of the hair to create that beautifully blended look we all know and love. Foilyage involves the same sweeping method, however, sections of hair are wrapped in foil instead of being left to air dry.
ADDITIONAL COLOR TRENDS
Blonde: A trending color for Utah Country that seems to be the seamless, healthy looking blonde look. No matter what your current hair, I can work with you on methods to lighten your hair in ways that keep it healthy and natural.
Dimensional color: Dimension is a contrast of light and dark tones. An example of dimensional color may be created by adding waves of lighter hair color to naturally dark hair or shades of darker color to lighter hair. Taking your natural hair color and adding variations of dimensional color gives you a complex, multi-dimensional look.
Vivid colors: If you are really looking to stand out with a unique look, vivid colors are a great way to go. These colors allow you to get creative, adding shades of pink, purple, blue—really any color of your choice—to your hair. The color placement options are endless! I love working with clients to come up with a truly unique vivid treatment that will stand out from others here in American Fork.
